The Sunsets are amazing in the NT
Escape the city and get yourself on a flight to Adelaide - down some wine (maybe even do a wine tour - hell, i did!) before jumping on a tour (best done sober) to the Red Centre. This is the BEST time to go! the rains gone, and the desert is alive. Why not learn something about the oldest living culture on the planet: the Australian Aboriginal culture. We can organise cultural nights and tours to suit your needs. Come ask me about my trip and i can plan an itinerary to suit your needs.

Perth is located on the beautiful Swan River. It’s such a happening place! 80% of WA’s 1.8 million people live in and around Perth, and these people really know how to party! The city is alive with markets during the day and is absolutely pumping at night with outdoor dining areas and bars to boot. I would highly recommend you get over to Perth and spend sometime in the actual city before heading off on a must-do tour.

Uncover the beauty that Sydney has to offer as you glide effortlessly by the famous harbour icons, magnificent waterfront homes, private beaches and secluded bays. Come and see us to book a harbour cruise, you can combine it with lunch as well! A cruise is the best way to see the magnificent sandstone coastline of Sydney. Whale watching season is soon approaching, so book now to see these magnificent creatures in the harbour as they migrate north!

No one does brain dead, meat-and-potatoes alterna-rock like Sydney stalwarts Grinspoon. Beginning in the semi-urban New South Wales outpost of Lismore, they won an early Triple J Unearthed talent quest with the quintessential single Sickfest. Predictably, they soon mined all the testosterone-heavy suburban music touchstones of the mid-’90s on 1997’s Guide to Better Living; energetic indie on Just Ace, shouty grunge rock on Pedestrian, and ripping pop-punk on DCX3 (with its timeless refrain “Dead Cat, three times”). From that inauspicious start, Grinspoon were the answer to jocks’ and surfers’ moshing needs. Anyway, get up to Fortitude valley just outside Brisbane to see Grinspoon on the 1st June. Ask us how to get up there!

Bree: the Maxi Skipper! Maxi Sailing the Whitsunday Islands
I’ve just come back to reality after sailing around the stunning Whitsundays on an awesome Maxi Yacht!!There are lots of different styles of boats to choose from for your Whitsunday Sailing experience, but I found a maxi to be a fantastic option!
My boat was called ‘The Card’, and she’s a gorgeous 83 foot Maxi, which sails for three full days and two nights. The great thing about maxi yachts is that they combine relaxation, activities such as snorkelling, diving and bushwalking on the islands, along with the true sailing experience! When the weather is right (which it always is in Queensland!) you too can become a member of the maxi yacht crew - get in there and hoist those sails!!!
So if your looking for a bit more adventure with your sailing trip, get yourself on a maxi yacht and see what the Whitsundays are all about!
Cheers, Bree

Sailing in the Whitsundays we also stopped at Whitehaven Beach - rated in the top ten beaches in the world
70% of the earth is water, and I’ve sailed on the best water ways in this
world! Get up to the Whitsundays, this is THE most perfect time to get up
there! It is paradise on earth, I can vouch for that. Choose from a 2, 3 or
4 day sail trip. My advice would be: go for as long as you can, you will
never experience anything like it again in the world!Rachel, BWT travel consultant

I was so lucky to swim with the Whalesharks…that’s a once in a lifetime experience!
This trip was amazing and it exceeded all my expectations. I had always wanted to go to Western Australia but somehow always managed to put it off. Being an Aussie I guess it is easy to keep saying “I can do that later” I finally put that thought out of my mind and booked it before I made any more excuses…and it was totally worth it!Not many travellers get to experience the West Coast because they run out of time or funds on the East Coast, which is a shame because they’re missing out! Western Australia is still relatively unspoilt and you can drive for miles without seeing another car! It is so refreshing to go somewhere that has lots to offer but isn’t crammed with people.
I did 2 tours with Planet Perth which were the 3 day South West and 10 day Perth to Broome and they were both fantastic. Jim, our tour guide from Perth to Broome was a typical Aussie bushman that knew so much about his country and taught us so many interesting things. He knew how to make everyone laugh with his constant brainteasers and jokes which helps on our long bus trips.
Although the whole trip was incredible, the highlights of the tour that stuck out to me were Karijini National Park, with its breathtaking views, excellent hiking and awesome swimming gorges. Ningaloo Reef was amazing and it’s not as crowded as the Great Barrier Reef plus I was so lucky to swim with the Whalesharks…that’s a once in a lifetime experience! The dolphins at Monkey Mia were so beautiful and we even got to swim with them, which is a rare opportunity.
To anyone thinking about Western Australia (or not), I definitely recommend it and now is the best time to go if you want to swim with the whale sharks (April – June).

One of Valentina’s favourite NZ moments: sea kayaking.
Hi all , I‚m Valentina, Italian , born and bred in Rome, but I’ve been an ‘Iwi’ (as in Italian-Kiwi) for the last 3 years. I‚ve also been a Japanese tour guide and tour Leader and travel consultant in Italy. I have backpacked my way around Europe, Africa, North America, South East and East Asia and of course Oceania. I fell in Love with New Zealand 7 years ago, I still remember the exact moment: it was a mid November morning, I was paddling my way around the Abel Tasman National Park in a 2 seater sea-kayak (my first time on a kayak too) and maybe it was the way the sun was shining and the sky was so blue or the emerald color reflecting from the water! If you’re in Auckland, please come and see my at Base Travel, Auckland - it’s where all travelaholics stop by! Ciao, Valentina x
